1) CITY TOUR

2) HERMITAGE MUSEUM
One of biggest museums of the world, founded 1764; its collection includes over 2.7 million items,
including masterpieces of Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Roden, Rembrandt, Rubens,
French impressionists, etc.
Gala room of the Winter Palace, a former royal residence.
3)RUSSIAN MUSEUM -- 2 hours
Collection of Russian art, over 300,000 works of Russian painters starting from the 11th century.
Masterpieces of great icon-painters such as Andrei Rublev, Surikov, Vereshchagin, Venetsianov,
Petrov and Serov.
The collection is displayed in 3 buildings. The main one is the Michael Palace,
built for grand prince Michael in 1819 - 1925 (architect Rossi).
ST. ISAAC’S CATHEDRAL
One of the most beautiul and highest buildings with a cupola 101,5 metres high.
It was built during 40 years (1818 - 1858) to the design of french architect August Monferan in Russian
classical style. It is interesting not only for its architectural style and construction technology but also
for its interior decorated with 150 paintings, 62 mosaics, sculptures of Russian and Italian sculptures.
4)PETER & PAUL FORTRESS
The oldest monument of history and architecture in St.-Petersburg.
The construction of it started in 1703. It was built as a fortification during the Russian-Swedich war.
But it was never used as a fortress and its bastions were turned into political prison sells.
There a son of Peter the Great, prince Alexei, a famous pretender to the throne,
princess Karakhakova, writer Radishchev, Decembrists, narodniks
and revolutionaries were held prisoners.
The Peter and Paul Cathedral designed by Tresini was the Buiral-vault
of Russian emperors since 1725.
5)USUPOV PALACE
Built for the Yussupov family, which was considered the richest noble family in Russia, the palace is a fine example of Russian architecture of the 2nd half of the 19th century. Its facade is executed in the classical style. Its interiors, including state rooms, palace theatre, private rooms of the Yussupov family are decorated with the works by Rembrandt and Rubens, French tapestries and porcelain, Venetian mirrors and wood carvings. The palace is also interesting from the historical point of view. It was in the palace basement that Grigory Rasputin was assassinated in 1916. Today there is an exposition recreating atmosphere of the assassination in the basement.
6)PETRODVORETZ (PETRHOFF)
The imperial summer residence on the Gulf of Finland, 29 km from the city.
At the beginning of the 18th century palaces were built and parks with fountains laid under the order
of Peter the Greate to commemorate the victory of the Russian army over the Sweden near Poltava.
The highest fountain of Petrodvorets depicting Samaon (21 m) was built as a symbol
of the victory 25 years after the battle.
The tour of the BIG PALACE includes gala halls, residential rooms and suites.
Here art pieces of the 18th and 19th centuries such as paintings, clocks, chandelles, dinners sets
and decorative lacquer panels are displayed.
7) PUSHKIN (TSARSKOE SELO) - 1,5 hrs
Located 29 km south of St.-Petersburg. the construction of the Catherine
the Great started in 1717.
A park in the French style was laid out around it. In the middle of the 18th century Tsarskoye selo
became the official royal residence.
Not far from the Catherine’s palace there is the Lycem where the great
poet Alexander Pushkin studied.
The Lyceum is open for visitors.
8) PAVLOVSK
The residence of the family of Paul 1 - Pavlovsk-is located 5 km from Pushkin . In its rooms created by
architects Cameron, Voronichin and Rossi, wonderful pieces of 19th century applied art, paintings of Russian
and European masters that belonged to Paul 1 and his family are exhibited.
Among them are some items made by Empress Maria Fedorovna.
9)KUNTSKAMERA
(TheChamber of Curiosities) The building was put up in 1718 to a design by Mattarnovi in order to accommodate collection of the first Russian museum founded by Peter the Great himself. Now Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography contains over one million articles telling about lifestyle of different peoples of the world. Many of the articles are unique. Collection of the museum is divided into the following departments: Anthropology and Archaeology, Near East and Middle East, Asia, Australia and Oceania, Africa, North America, Latin America, etc. The tower is occupied by the museum of Mikhail Lomonosov - the first Russian universal scholar, who used to work there.
10)FOLKLORE SHOW
“Carnival”, The Concert Hall of the Anichkov Palace
The Concert hall is located next to the Anichkov palace close to the Nevsky prospect.
Built in 1986 and recently renovated, “Carnival” seats 760 (522 – stalls, 239 – balcony).
Regular performances are given here by professional folk companies.
Fourchettes can be served in a foyer with splendid Winter garden and fountains.
Program consists of two parts (45 min each) and a 15-minute intermission.
During intermission there can be arranged a fourchette: mineral water, vodka, salmon and caviar canapés.
Folk groups performing at the Carnival Concert Hall consist of dancers, singers and musicians (about 70 – 100 pax altogether).
There is always live music.
11)RIVERS AND CANALS BOAT RIDE
Boats: comfortable, recently renovated boats can seat up to 80 passengers.
