Bojnice and Cicmany in Slovakia, travel info

History of rich royal families and insight into traditional lives of normal people - that's what these two beautiful places can offer you.

At first you can admire attractions in Bojnice, small town in central Slovakia: the oldest zoo in Slovakia, the most visited castle, and one of the oldest spas in Slovakia.

Bojnice castle is a national cultural monument and museum at the same time. It is built on a travertine rock with a natural cave. It is one of the most beautiful monuments in Slovakia.

The first written records of its existence come from 1113 in a document from the Zobor abbey.

Bojnice fortress and its domain were always part of the Royal property, with the King handing out pledges or privilege of heritage to the given magnates. Recent enchanting look is a work of Count Palffy, who had done the castle in the style of the French gothic castles of the Loire valley.

Other very impressive site that you will certainly catch a sight of is The King Matej linden Tree. According to myth, aristocrat and duke Matus Cak Trenciansky planted this tree in 1301.

After the visiting of castle is the oldest ZOO in Slovakia waiting for you.

How people lived in the past in mountain villages you can see in Cicmany.

Complex of folk architecture is extraordinary with its well preservation and style uniformity.
This little village will get you with very unique paintings on the houses, valuable embroidery with roots in renaissance age and beautiful countryside.

Do not wait and come to visit all these places.

Nobles castle in the west part of Slovakia versus little village with the well preserved folk architecture.
