Bratislava is the largest city in Slovakia and also its capital. It is on both sides of the Danube River and not far at all from the Carpathian Mountains, Austria and Hungary. It has a very rich cultural Central European tradition and the magnificent historic old town with a hill top castle is the highlight of it. The area, mostly cobbled stoned streets, is exclusively open to pedestrians only and there are plenty of little parks with fountains, churches, palaces, statues, shops, old trees, cafes, restaurants and bars. It gives Bratislava its special characteristic and keeps you busy for quite some time. On offer are also several museums and galleries that will appeal to a wide audience. Among those you will find the museum of natural history, museum of archaeology, museum of history, museum of ethnography, museum of Jewish culture and many more. Don't forget to include and evening at the local opera or theatre as they are very well established.

If you have some more time of your hands we also recommend a day trip to Vienna. It is only close by and fits in perfectly onto almost every itinerary.

1 DAY - Arrival to Bratislava. Check-in.

Our Travel representative meets you at the airport and assists you to your hotel.

Depending on your arrival time and hotel check-in policy, you may not be able to check into your hotel room immediately upon arrival. We will advise you of your check-in status and activity schedule for the day when you arrive.

Enjoy the balance of the afternoon at leisure to relax after your flight.

 

2 DAY - Panoramic City Tour with our local guide - 3 hrs.

The Devin castle was a fortress used as a watchtower by the Slavonic count Rastislav Dovina. The place was mentioned in the manuscripts as early as the 9th century AD. In 1809 the fortress was blew up by a Napoleon troops. The area of the castle became an archaeological research point since 1965 when its ruins have been partially reconstructed.

The tour of the Old Town of Bratislava includes the St. Martin's Cathedral, the Primatial Palace and Michalska gate.
